Ballot papers back for T-byelections - Hyderabad - City - The Times of India

Ballot papers back for T-byelections - Hyderabad - City - The Times of India:

HYDERABAD: The Election Commission has decided to use ballot papers for the coming bypolls in the state instead of electronic voting machines since the number of candidates in 10 out of 12 constituencies exceeds 70. Nizamabad urban is the only constituency where EVMs will be used.

According to officials of the Election Commission, each EVM can have names of 16 candidates and it cannot install more than four units per constituency. This means that the EVMs cannot be used if the number of candidates was more than 64. --->>>
