People cut off by floods in Queensland are being reassured they'll be able to vote in time for elections later this month.
The Queensland Electoral Commission is working with local governments to get forms to stranded people.
The Commission's David Kerslake says, in future, online voting could come to the rescue.
"We're currently looking at developing a system for people with disabilities that prevent them from exercising a secret vote, and one of the things we're looking at is telephone and internet voting," he says.
"It's a short step from that process to then look at the possibility of internet voting in remote areas to address these sorts of issues."
