Bill requires more high-tech overseas voting - Army News, news from Iraq, - Army Times:

A new military voter law requiring states to use e-mail and fax to speed registration and delivery of blank ballots was unanimously approved Wednesday by a Senate Committee.

Individual states, which are responsible for their respective voting procedures, would face new burdens under the bill. Every state would be required to put in place and maintain an electronic system for voter registration to request absentee ballots, although they would get to decide whether this would be by e-mail, fax or some other means.
