Troops' votes may not be counted - Defence Management:

The government has admitted that it may not be possible to process the votes of all troops serving in Afghanistan in time for the general election on 6 May.

During Question Time in the House of Lords, Conservative Lord Astor of Hever said that Justice Minister Michael Wills could offer 'no guarantee' that all of the votes from soldiers serving in Afghanistan would reach Britain in time to be counted. Lord Astor also said that 34,000 members of the armed forces were not registered to vote.
