Taft wins electoral appeal against province:
The Alberta Court of Appeal has sided with Liberal MLA Kevin Taft in his effort to pursue legal action against the province for alleged irregularities during the 2008 election.
Taft initiated court proceedings a year ago, seeking a judicial declaration to push the government to enact new election laws he believes would prevent some of the issues that occurred on voting day.
The list of complaints includes Tory-appointed returning officers, a lack of polling stations in assisted-living facilities and on reserves, people directed to the wrong polling stations and other 'infringements' on the right to vote. --->>>
