Australia: GetUp! Wins Court Case

GetUp! Wins Court Case :

Australians will be able to enrol online after the Federal Court ruled in favour of GetUp!'s case against the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). GetUp! had taken the AEC to the court, challenging electoral laws that prevented voters from enrolling online. Previously, the High Court also ruled the Howard government's changes that closed the electoral rolls on the day writs were issued were unconstitutional.

As a result, about 100,000 additional people were entitled to vote last Saturday. --->>>

  1. I'm confused. Was it online "voting" that was allowed or online "enrollment"?

  2. Clearly it is "online enrollment". The references in the article to online voting apply to Estonia, not Australia. I used the original headline with the article without checking its accuracy.

    Thanks for the correction.
