Do you know the penalties for interfering with an election, as in this case?
ReplyDeleteIn this sort of case in Canada, I don't think any electoral law is applicable since the political party election would be not considered like an election for public office, which the election laws would govern.
ReplyDeleteIn this case I think that we would need to look for law against denial of service and that would be the basis for any penalty.
I'm not a legal expert - it would be interesting to get an legal opinion on the Canadian situation. My guess is that US law is much more robust in the case of party elections since party elections there seem to be much more integrated into the overall electoral process.
